So you are all probably wondering where all of the pictures are of Porter over the last 4 months. Having 2 kids is much busier than 1, so we have not figured out how to get any time to do things like upload pictures, etc. We are hoping to take care of it soon. Porter looks so different than before.
Porter had his 4 month well check visit on Tuesday and he weighed in at 16 pounds 11 ounces – 90th percentile for weight and 26 inches long (not sure where that ranks). Porter still has blue eyes and the doctor said that eye color is not determined until closer to 9 months and for blue eyes, they could change to hazel up to 18 months. Porter has light brown or dirty blond colored hair, but still does not have very much of it (at least not compared to what Grant had – by this time Grant had 3-4 haircuts alreadyJ).
Porter loves to laugh and is very smiley. He loves to do horsey rides and loves zerberts on his tummy. Porter absolutely loves Kent and laughs so hard with (at) Kent. Porter also likes people that wear glasses.
Fortunately, Porter’s colic went away just on schedule at 3 months. Porter still has some bad reflux and is on medication. In the last month his spit-up has become quite excessive (even though we put rice cereal in his bottles). If anyone has any suggestions on what to do to reduce spit-up, let us know. The doctor is not concerned because he weighs so much, but he probably spits up at least ½ (and lately up to ¾) of what he eats. I think Danielle (the nanny) is tired of bringing more than 2 shirts to work because you just get drenched. (Grant never spit-up much, so this is pretty new for us).
Porter is drooling a lot and chewing on everything. At 4 months I guess the gums start itching a bit in preparation for teeth, so we are on to the teething stage.
Unfortunately, Porter has regressed on his sleeping abilities and wakes up a lot at night. Kent can tell you about his long nights with Porter and the frequent visits they have in Porter’s room. We are hoping to pull the pacifier soon and maybe that will help.
We are going to try really hard to get some pictures uploaded next weekend and then will send you all links.
Everyone else is doing fine – Grant is loving preschool (although, as usual, it took a few weeks for him to warm up to going, but now wants to go every day).
